Funeral services for Will C. Green, one of Denison's best known and leading men for years, following a long illness and his death Saturday night at a local hospital, were
held here Tuesday.  Interment was at Fairview with the services directed by Bratcher-Moore.
Mr. Green made his home for the past 40 years at 1030 W. Main street.  His widow survives him, formerly Miss Goldie Hill.  Other relatives surviving him are two sisters, Mrs. J.R. Handy, Mrs. H.R. Thompson, both of this city.  Mr. Green was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal church and services were under auspices of that church.
Aside from his ability to show he was capable as a  business man to the point of serving as district manager for many years of the Texas Power and Light Co., Mr. Green was one of the most active and enthusiastic lovers of sports in North Texas and was interested in protecting the game reserves of this area.
Born near Springfield, Kentucky, Mr. Green attended Kentucky State College and came to Denison in 1903.  After attending Harshaw Business Academy here, he became a clerk at the H. Tone & Son Abstract office in 1905, and 3 years later joined the Denison Light & Power Co.
Starting as a clerk, he later obtained practical experience by working in the power and gas plants and became chief clerk under Manager P.A. Rogers.  He became district
manager when T.T. & L. purchased the property in 1918 and continued in that position until his retirement.
A sports enthusiast, especially golf, Mr. Green was an active member of the Rod and Gun Club until his health failed.  He was an early member of the Rotary Club, and was also a member of the Elks and Chamber of Commerce.  He headed the old Denison Welfare Association during its trying period at the depth of the depression.
