. . . Died at the family home, 522 West Gandy street, on Monday, September 7th, at 1:05 p.m., Fred P. Hibbard, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Hibbard, old residents of this city.
Fred Pomerov Hibbard was born at Troy, Wisconsin, Oct. 1, 1863. He was the third of a family of four sons, Charles M., Walter S., and H. A. Hibbard, all well known business men, surviving him.
The family came to Denison in Febuary 1876 and father and sons have been prominent in business circles. Walter S. and Fred P. Hibbard were the founders of the Hibbard Bros grocery business, a firm that grew under their able management from a modest beginning to the to the present immense proportions of hundreds of thousands of dollars, annually. The management of this immense business devolved chiefly on the latter until some four years ago, when his healt began to fail.
On April 3, 1887, Fred Hibbard and Miss Daisy Bacon, sister of Mrs. E. T. Hathaway, were married. Two children blessed the union, Ina May, who died eleven years ago, and Fred Jr., who with the faithful wife, father and mother, survive him.
The funeral services were conducted both at the home and at the cemetery by Rev. Little of the Presbyterian church, Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with interment in Fairview cemetery.
