Conductor Brown's Obsequies
The funeral of conductor John Brown of the Houston and Texas railway, who was assassinated near Sherman on Friday night week, took place from the First Presbyterian church Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The church was packed to the doors during the service, and the streets lined with waiting carriages for blocks in every direction. The attendance at the grave was equally large, being the most numerous concourse that has ever followed a hearse into Fairview cemetery.
