BUSINESS LEADER AT DENISON DIES

Funeral Services Thursday for Banker and Cotton Mill Owner

Denison.- William Benjamin Munson, 50, president of the Denison cotton mill and connected with many other county and state institutions, died at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Wilson N. Jones hospital at Sherman after a short illness. Mr. Munson suffered a heart attack while enroute to Dallas to a manufacturer's meeting late last week, and entered a Dallas hospital for treatment. He was later moved to Sherman.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday from the First Presbyterian church, conducted by Dr. S.L. Terry, pastor, assisted by Dr. Conway Wharton, Sherman.  Burial will be in the mausoleum at Sherman.
Many of the Denison stores will close for the services.  Both Denison banks will close at 1  p.m. and the city hall will close for the funeral hour.  The Denison schools will be dismissed for the afternoon in respect to Mr. Munson who was president of the school board and a......

John Munson, 9, Killed By Auto at Denison

DENISON, Texas, April 16 - Funeral services for John Kerr Munson, 9, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Munson Jr., will be held at the Presbyterian Church Sunday afternoon at
3 o'clock. The lad was fatally injured Friday evening near his home when struck by a passing automobile. He remained in a state of coma until death twelve hours after the accident.

The father is manager of the Denison Cotton Mill, president of the Citizens National Bank and president of the School Board. The parents, two sisters and a brother survive.

DONALDSON , HELEN ELIZABETH MUNSON (Betty) passed away peacefully at home on Thursday December 18, 2003. She was born on September 11, 1920 to William Benjamin Munson Jr. and Betsy Kerr Munson. She attended The Hockaday School for Girls, Vassar College, and The University of Texas at Austin where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Tom Donaldson of El Paso, Tx.. She lived in El Paso for 48 years and was an active member and president of the Junior League. In 1995 she moved to Dallas and was a member of the Junior League Garden Club & Pi Beta Phi Alumni Group. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, William Benjamin Munson III and John Kerr Munson and her sister, Peggy Munson Wilcox. She is survived by her brother, David Murray Munson of Dallas; daughters, Betsy Donaldson Wilson of Dallas and Mrs. Charles (Peggy) Bishop of Trophy Club; 3 grandchildren, Kimberly Wilson Filippo of Arlington, Tom Donaldson McNutt of Houston and Ray Everett McNutt of Aspen, Colorado; 2 great-grandchildren, Ethan Austin Filippo and Carson Elizabeth McNutt; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Sparkman/Hillcrest on Sunday, December 21st from 6 to 8PM. A memorial service will be held at St. Michael & All angels Episcopal Church in the St. Michael Chapel on Monday, December 22 at 1PM. Interment will follow at the family plot at 4PM
