MRS. DELLA FEAGAN - Savoy - Services for Mrs. Della Feagan, 84, housewife who died Tuesday at a Denison hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Savoy, conducted by the Rev. Sid Maples of Denison.
Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Denison under the direction of Mullican-Little Funeral Home.
Born in Chattanooga, Tenn, Mrs. Feagan was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. H.G. Oliver.  She lived in Grayson and Fannin Counties since she was 6 years old and was married to Claude Feagan on Mar. 16, 1908 at Gober.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Savoy.
Surviving are a son, Dr. Robert Feagan of Hugo, Okla; a daughter, Mrs.Domer Ryon of Savoy; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Research Note: The natural parents of Dr. Robert Feagan, aka Robert Lee Deaso, were Atoka Myrtle Feagans and Gus Lee Deason.  Atoka Feagans Deason, sister of Claude Feagan died soon after the birth of her son Robert Lee Deason. Claude chose not to use an  "s" ending on the spelling of his surname.
Unable to adequately provide for his newborn son (there were seven other small children that required his attention) Gus asked his brother-in-law Claude Feagan and his wife Della Oliver Feagan to "look after" Robert.
Robert was raised in Claude and Della's household under the name of Robert Feagan.
Claude (Claudius) Gamalie Feagan and his sister Atoka (Tokie) Myrtle Feagans were two of the children of  Daniel Feagans and Mary Ann Blanton. They were the grandchildren of Stephen Fletcher Blanton and Sarah McDaniel.
