Funeral services for Hiram T. Swinney, 57, were held at Bratcher Funeral Home Thursday afternoon, April 25 at 3 o'clock. The Rev. Ernest L. Potter officiated and burial was in Fairview cemetery.
Mr. Swinney, cafe operator of the Cartwright, Oklahoma, Texoma Inn, died suddenly in a local hospital April 23 at 11:05 p.m.
He was born in Emerson, Arkansas, November 20, 1899, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel W. Swinney.  He attended school at Bodcaw, Arkansas, and was married December 27, 1922 in Prescott, Arkansas, to Miss Arlene Morgan.  They resided in Whiteface, Texas before moving to Cartwright 3 years ago.  He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors are his widow; one son, Truman Swinney; and one daughter, Mrs. Luther White, both of Whiteface, Texas; 2 brothers, C.P. Swinney of Texarkana and S.C. Swinney of Jonesboro, Texas; 4 sisters, Mrs. C.A. Ross, Texarkana; Mrs. C.T. Edwards, Dustin, Oklahoma; Mrs. Ira Phelps, Haynesville, Louisiana; and Mrs. Rowland Fulmer, Memphis.
