The Sunday Gazetteer
Sunday, March 26, 1905

Last Sunday was a delightful day, just cool enough to make outdoor exercises inviting. The Gazetteer man visited Fairview Cemetery to take a look at Lee Burgess' chickens which he has been boasting about. Lee has several pens of thoroughbred fowls and the are beauties sure. He has them separated and eggs for sale. To the north of the barn is quite
a large tank full of water and a few ducks were sporting in their native element. Burgess has charge of the cemetery grounds and is the right man in the right place. Fairview cemetery is a beautiful spot to visit in early spring. The grounds are kept in nice order. Many people are putting out flowers to adorn the last resting spot of their dead. The graveled walks are kept very tidy. The evergreen trees and the emerald green of the grass is very agreeable to the eyes, wild flowers are just beginning to show themselves above the ground. When the weather gets a little advanced and the trees are in foliage there will be no prettier spot around Denison than Fairview Cemetery.
