Funeral services for James W. Smith, 79, of 731 W.  Texas, were held at Bratcher-Moore chapel Thursday morning with
Jim Swafford officiating. Burial was in Fairview cemetery.
Smith was born in Kentucky, October 16, 1874, the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Smith. He was married to Ella Hollingsworth
in Bells, in 1899. He operated a filling station at 1016 S. Armstrong for 23 years. He was a member of the Armstrong Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Paul Smith, Denison; a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Steen, Denison; three brothers, Neal Smith, Denison, W. L. Smith, Ft. Worth and George Smith, Honey Grove.
