Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the Funderburk's chapel for Charles Mumfore Ellis, 88, who died
Monday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E.F. McDermott, 212 W. Hanna.  Rev. Wm. J. Beall officiated.
Interment was in Fairview cemetery with Funderburk, funeral directors, in charge.  Pallbearers were Chas. Level,
Pat McDermott, Ed Reinecker, Babe Reinecker, Geo. Lowery and Floyd Lyne.
Ellis was born in Munford, Florida, November 2, 1863, the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Ellis.  He was married
December 29, 1887 in Gonzales County, and would have been married 64 years next Saturday.  He was a retired
farmer and came here from Tishomingo 20 years ago.
Survivors are his widow, Emma Caroline Ellis; 2 sons, Paul Ellis of Oklahoma City and Bruce Ellis of Armstrong,
Oklahoma; 3 daughters, Mrs. Faye Level and Mrs. J.B. Anderson of Calvert, and Mrs. McDermott of Denison; 3
brothers, C.C. Ellis of San Antonio; Houston ellis of eagle Pass; and Burnett Ellis of Mancos, Colorado; 3 sisters,
Mrs. Fannie Blanks of Denton; Mrs. Lucy Roland of Alice; and Mrs. R.E. Cosgrove of San Antonio; 9 grandchildren
and 5 great-grandchildren.
