DENISON - William "Lucky" Bates, 68, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Mullican Care Center in Savoy. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 5, 2010 at Fairview Cemetery, 1501 Highway 91 North, Denison.

Lucky was born on June 6, 1942 in Gainesville, the son of Jesse Bates and Laura "Jackie" (Steel) Bates Davis. He was raised in Denison, living most of his life of the eastside of town. Lucky was a big fan of the parades held in Denison. He
was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Denison.

Lucky is survived by his cousin, Charles Riggs of Colbert, Okla. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Bates; mother, Laura "Jackie" Davis and his stepfather M.B. Davis.
