Services for William Edward (Ed) Conatser, Jr. will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Fairview Cemetery Chapel in Denison. He died Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Texoma Medical Center following a brief illness.
Rev. Jerry Coffman of Parkside Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Denison.
Ed was born on December 21, 1943, in Wichita Falls, Texas, the son of Dorothy Townsend and William Edward (Bill) Montserrat. He married Pamela Lee Long mire in 1973 in Moline, IL. They celebrated 35 years in a happy marriage of fishing, camping, Christian worship and caring for one another.
He retired from Grayson County Community College where he took great pride in his work at the gymnasium, a place where he could be close to the sports he loved. Ed has been an active member of Parkside Baptist Church.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Bill Montserrat, and a brother, John Townsend Montserrat. He is survived by cousins, Mary Elizabeth Cole, husband Dave, of Tulsa, Gerry Preston, wife Mary of Frisco, Cheryl Montserrat Vandiver, husband Roy of Dallas, Clifton Derby's, wife Constance of Houston, and Candy Montserrat Channell, husband
Ben of Fort Worth. The entire Montserrat family are natives of Denison.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may given in Ed's memory to the Children's Ministry Vacation Bible School where he served as a volunteer.
