DIED
Mrs. M.E. Shrader, wife of Mr. Roe Shrader, only son of Mrs. Ben F. McDuffey, died at the family home about 2 miles south of the city Sunday at 11 o'clock p.m.  She leaves behind a grief-stricken husband and two children, a son, Carl, and baby Dot.  Mrs. Shrader was a victim of typhoid fever, and after an illness of two weeks she gave up the struggle and went to her rest.  She was conscious to within a few minutes of the end, and her last thought and word were of the loved ones left behind, calling her husband and son to her side and bidding them remain close to her.  She had always been a most devoted wife and loving mother, and when she reached the supreme hour of life - the last sunset before the dawn - her last thought was given her loved ones.  Nearing the hour of midnight she could no longer keep up the unequal struggle, and, surrounded by husband, children, other relatives and friends, she laid life's burden down.
Mrs. Shrader was thirty-nine years old and had been married Oct. 4, 1897.  The marriage was a most happy one, and the wounds made by the sudden and cruel separation will be long in healing.  Only time can dim the scars and assuage the bitterness of grief.  All that loving hearts and skillful hands could do to arrest the disease was done, but the grim reaper would not be staid.  Mrs. Shrader was a member of the Southern Methodist Episcopal church and the funeral services were
conducted by Rev. Archer at the house, the the interment was in Fairview cemetery, at 5 o'clock Monday afternoon.  Every face around the open grave showed regret that this wife and mother had been called away, but hope lightened even this bitter hour, hope that it was "well with her,"  and that God's angels with outstretched hands, had given her a welcome home.
