Genevieve Everheart Streun
24 December 1915 - 27 April 2005



William Ray (Bill) Streun was born December 18, 1939, in Sherman, Grayson County, Texas. He died July 12, 2012, in the hospital in Seguin, Texas, after a short illness. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Mary Genevieve ("Gen") Everheart Streun and Frank Merton Streun; his father-in-law Clyde Henry Moore; and his sister-in-law Phyllis Moore Sutton. He is survived by his wife Gail Elizabeth Moore Streun and their son Nathan Edward Streun.

He is also survived by his mother-in-law, (Lena) Irene Moore; brother John Arnold Streun II and wife Mary, their three children, their spouses, and their grandchildren; brother-in-law Vern Sutton, his son Michael and wife Beatrice, and grandson Conner; his paternal cousins Maurine Pevehouse McCluer, Merrilee Streun Leatherman, LaRose Streun Seltzer, and Melody Streun Ax; Betty Haralson Roberts and Bobbie Haralson Stegal; his maternal cousins Ann Everheart Dryden, John Charles Christian, Martha Everheart Haynes, A.T. Langford, and Michael Joseph Everheart; and other cousins too numerous to mention; and friends around the world.

Bill was proud of his service in the Navy, and believed service to one's country was not only worthwhile, but vital and satisfying, and should be required. He was a member of American Legion Post 245 in Seguin.

Bill had lived in several cities in Texas and Mexico. He was a graduate of Austin College in Sherman, Texas, several banking schools, and the Harvard Advanced Management Program. By profession he was a banker and financial institutions consultant. He was a wonderful raconteur. Bill was a volunteer Spanish translator, and had volunteered with
the CDC in Warsaw, Poland. Throughout his life, he was a voracious reader with diverse interests, who will be remembered for his intelligence, his curiosity, and his depth of knowledge in many areas.
