Canaan - Everheart

Our people were made sad on Tuesday morning by the news that Miss Sarah Lou Nell Keeling was dead.  The deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Keeling o f this community and had been ill for a months.  She was attacked by the malady which caused her death while visiting her aunt, Mrs. Jake Purcell, at Cooper, some weeks ago.  Her parents and other relatives were summoned to her bedside immediately after which she was removed to her home, where willing hands ministered to her every need, until her death on Tuesday morning at 8:20 o'clock.
Nell, as she was known by every one, was 17 years of age, of a strong, noble character and a sweet disposition. She was a Christian girl and a member of the Methodist church. Everyone loved her for her kindness for as the lily, she was pure and unspotted.
Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church by her pastor, Rev. Smith, i n the presence of a number of relatives and friends who came to pay the last respects to this dear one. Interment was at Everheart cemetery.

Card of Thanks
We take this means of expressing our gratitude to our neighbors and friends for the many acts of kindness shown us in the deep sorrow occasioned by the death of our daughter.
Surely greater kindness could not have been shown than was shown us in the funeral arrangements and in lightening our sorrow.
Unable to express our feelings as we would, we can only say that we appreciate to the uttermost the kindly offers of our friends.
Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Keeling
