[Items gleaned from the Denison Daily News] Ending June 7, 1879 January 1 - Mr. Isaac Lowenthal of Dallas and Miss Emma, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Carr, of this city, were united in marriage at the residence of the bride's parents on Gandy street, Rev. Suhler, a Jewish Rabbi, performed the ceremony. The News said this was the first marriage ceremony according to the Jewish rites ever performed in Denison.
