Marcus "Mark" Hardenburg Brown, 77, went to his heavenly home Monday, December 17, 2018 to walk with Jesus.
Mr. Brown was born February 19, 1941 in Denison, Texas, son of S.J. and Frances Hardenburg Brown.  He married the love of his life, Emma Lee Lewis, April 8, 1967 in Savoy, Texas.  Mark devoted his life to faithfully serving his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and his family.  He was a faithful longtime member of First Baptist Church in Denison, where he was so actively involved in numerous ministries of the church.  Mark belonged to many civic organizations, as well.  He served on the board at GCEC for many years.  He loved his time there.  Mark had a green thumb and was an amazing farmer.  Mark was a king, loving husband, father and grandfather.  He positively influenced so many people; this will continue to touch lives forever.  Mark leaves behind a remarkable legacy that will live in the hearts of people he touched.
Mark leaves behind his beloved family, wife of 51 years, Emma Lee Brown of Sherman; daughters, Heather Helm of Frisco, Texas; and Holley Murphy and husband, Jake, of Pottsboro; grandchildren, Lauren, Mackenzie, Olivia, Jack, Presley, Halley and Carlley; and great-grandson, Rider; sister, Carol Williams and husband, John, of San Antonio, Texas; brother, Myron "Boogie" Brown and wife, Gay, of Austin, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Myrna Hicks; and infant daughter, Lisa Brown.
Funeral services for Mr. Brown were held Thursday afternoon, December 20, 2018 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Werth Mayes officiating.  Internment followed at Enterprise Cemetery.  Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home in Denison. - - - Fisher Funeral Home


On Wednesday, April 15, 2020 Emma Lee Brown, 73, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
Mrs. Brown was born November 28, 1946 in Savoy, Texas, daughter of Walter and Gladys Jackson Lewis.  She married the love of her life, Marcus "Mark" Hardenburg Brown, April 8, 1967 in Savoy, Texas.  Together they were faithful, lifelong members of First Baptist Church in Denison.  The great joys of her life were her family, dear friends, and her faith in Jesus Christ.  Emma Lee loved children, and she touched the lives of many kids at Lamar Elementary, where she taught and later became a counselor.  She is most remembered for always helping others, listening, and finding the absolute best in any trying situation.  Emma Lee was the sunshine in the life of many people and will always be remembered deeply in our hearts.
Her legacy will be cherished and kept alive in timeless stories by those she left behind: daughters, Heather Helm of Frisco, Texas; Holley Murphy and husband, Jake, of Pottsboro, Texas; Sadie Myers and husband, Werth, of Stephenville, Texas; grandchildren, Lauren MacKenzie, Olivia, Jack Presley, Halley, and Carlley; and great-grandson, Rider.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 51 years; and infant daughter, Lisa Brown.
Private graveside service was held Monday afternoon, April 20, 2020 at Enterprise Cemetery.
