Timothy Edward Garvin, 62, died peacefully at his home in Melissa, Texas on October 26, 2020.  He was born January 29, 1958 in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of Robert Lee and Margaret Ann Crane Garvin.
Timothy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music in 1980 and Masters Degree in Music Education in 1985 from California State University in San Bernardino.
Timothy married Deborah E. Marquette on September 18, 1982 in Los Angeles, California.  Timothy's career of 33 years was spent as a music teacher in the Barstow Unified School District, including Barstow Community College, Barstow, California.  Timothy's philosophy was, "Music is part of the human condition so it ought to be nurtured rather than left stagnant."
Timothy was an active member of the McKinney Community Band in Texas, playing the bass clarinet.  He was a Union Pacific Railroad collector of HO model trains; he loved German Shepherds; he was an RV camping enthusiast; and was a vinyle record collector.
Timothy was predeceased by his parents.
Surviving, in addition to his wife are his daughter, Elizabeth M. Waits and husband, Todd, of Richardson, Texas; Benjamin N. Garvin and wife, Aubrey Erdley, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; daughter, Katherine I. Garvin of Klamath Falls, Oregon; and his grandchildren, Connor, Nathan, Cayson and Hunter; one brother, John R. Garvin; and 2 sisters, Ann Leslie Garvin Hermanson and Elizabeth Garvin Stuppy.
A viewing remembrance was held Monday, November 2, 2020 at Scoggins Funeral Home, Van Alstyne, Texas.  A private family graveside service was held at Elliott Cemetery, Gunter, Texas.
