Funeral services for Jerry Wayne Sasser, 67, of Gainesville are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011 at Victory Life Tabernacle Church with David Mark King officiating.
Burial will follow in Dixie Cemetery in Whitesboro.
Mr. Sasser died July 29, 2011 at his residence.
He was born Jan. 30, 1944 in Whitesboro to James F. and Clarcy M. (Ellis) Sasser.
He married Vickie L. Talley in Denton.
He was a machinist and a member of the Victory Life Tabernacle Church.
He loved drag racing and going to the lake. He also loved dancing and karaoke.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Leigh Ann and Tony Smith of Gainesville; sons, Steven W. Sasser of Gainesville; James Ray Sasser of Gainesville; grandchildren, Brandi Smith, Athena Elizabeth Sasser, Devin Smith and Achilles Ray Sasser, all of Gainesville; mother, Clarcy M. Sasser of Gainesville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wesley and Sue Sasser of Callisburg, Donald R. and Linda Sasser of Gainesville and sister, Dorothy R. Ryder of Gainesville.
He was preceded in death by father, James F. Sasser; wife, Vickie L. Sasser and brother, James Alver Sasser.
Visitation is planned for 6 to 8 p.m., this evening, August 1, 2011 at Clement Keel Funeral.
Services are under the direction of Clement-Keel Funeral Home.
