WHITESBORO - Rosemary Walden Rogers, 72, of Whitesboro and a loving mother and granny passed away December 25, 2002 at Wilson N. Jones medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2002 at Huff Funeral Chapel in Whitesboro. Reverend Donnie Bray of Grayson Bible Church in Sherman will officiate and interment will be at Dixie Cemetery in Grayson County.
Rosemary Rogers was born August 3, 1930 in Ballinger, Texas to parents Luther Walden and Princess Viola Walden. She married Edmond Rogers on September 29, 1946 in Ballinger.
Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her father, Luther Walden, and husband Edmond Walden.
She was a retired cashier/clerk for City Drug in Whitesboro which later became Hilley's Drug Store. Mrs. Rogers belonged to Sadler United Methodist Church in Sadler, Texas.
Rosemary Walden Rogers is survived by; son, Dick Rogers of Whitesboro; daughter, Diane Jullian and her husband David of Sherman; grandchildren, Kristi Shamasko and her husband David of Sherman, Kara Brown and her husband Michael of Van Alstyne, Ryan Rogers of Whitesboro, Chad Julian and his wife Aimee of Miami, Oklahoma, Casey Fleet and her husband Doug
of Corpus Christi, Mike Julian of Moore, Oklahoma; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Huff Funeral Home in Whitesboro for visitation from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on December 27, 2002. 



Dickie Ray Rodgers, 'Chief', 66, passed away Friday, November 27, 2015, at the Whitesboro Health and Rehab Center.  Family visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 1st, at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman.  Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 2nd, in Dannel Funeral Chapel.  Rev. Buddy Garland, of Bethel Baptist Church
in Pilot Point, TX, will officiate.  Interment will follow in Dixie Cemetery in Whitesboro, TX.


Dickie was born on June 30, 1949, in Sherman, TX, to Edmond and Rosemary Rodgers.  He graduated from Whitesboro High School in 1967.  He attended Grayson County College as well as the Texas Baptist Institute and Seminary in Henderson, TX, where he was also employed by the Henderson Police Department.  After completion of his time in the seminary, he returned
to the Ft. Worth area, where he accepted a position with the Saginaw Police Department.  He left after 15 years and service, and achieving the rank of Sergeant.  He returned to his hometown of Whitesboro, TX, and obtained employment with the Cooke County Sheriff's Office.  He served as both Patrol Sergeant, and then Chief Deputy.  In January 1997, Dickie was one of the first new hires at the Grayson County Sheriff's Office, where he served 10 months in patrol before being promoted to the Criminal Investigation Unit.  He remained there until August, 2007, when he applied for, and was offered the job of Chief of Police in Tioga, TX.  He remained with the Tioga Dept, until his health forced his retirement in 2012.  He was a passionate rider with the American Legion Riders, of Pilot Point, TX, Post 550, where he was also the Legion's Chaplain, and where he made and loved many dear friends.


Dickie was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Rosemary Rodgers, and grandchildren, Grace and Lilly Rodgers.

He is survived by his daughters: Kristi Shamasko and husband, David, Kara Moran and husband, Greg, all of Sherman; son
Ryan Rodgers and wife Jessica, of Bowie; grandchildren: Morgan Shamasko Crosby and husband Ian, of Forney, TX, David Shamasko III, Ashton Moran, Bailey Moran, Chandler Moran and  Caitlyn Moran, all of Sherman, TX, as well as Nathan Rodgers, Julia Rodgers, and Chloe Rodgers, all of Bowie, TX; sister, Diane Julian and husband David, of Moore, OK; nephews: Chad Julian and wife, Aimee, of Afton, OK, and Mike Julian and wife, Kelsey, of  Forney, TX; niece, Casey Booker and husband,
Dusty, of Meridian, Mississippi.
