Jan. 19 - The death angel has again visted our community and took the precious daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Vernon (Lottie Lee) - took her to her immortal home. She was 14 years old and had been an invalid 12 years, suffering from bone consumption, and for the past three months she has been helpless, but she is past all suffering and sorrows are no more. We say to the bereaved ones, Weep not, for your loss is her eternal gain. 
She leaves a mother and sister and grandfather and grandmother to mourn her loss.
The funeral services were conducted at the Cross Roads church by Rev. Miller of Blue Ridge. She was interred in the Cross Roads cemetery to await the resurrection morn, when she will rise and go to her Father, who is in heaven. The
writer and their friends extend sympathy to the bereaved ones.
