SHERMAN
Special to the Gazette
Sherman, Tex., - Dec. 26 - Henry Duncan, an exuberant negro, got on the warpath last night and used his little gun freely. He went to the house of Henry Irvine, colored, where a dance was in progress, and fired several shots into the crowd. A boy named Joe Montello was slightly wounded in the hip and Jordan Whitley got a flesh wound in the shoulder; another shot or two failed to hit anybody, but scared the crowd badly. Duncan then went home and got up a quarrel with his half-brother, George Valden, which ended in his shooting George in the mouth and cutting his lip, but the wounds are not dangerous in either case. Duncan could not be found to-day.
