  Map GPS N 33.61862 W 96.57085 Take Hwy 11 to FM Rd 697; travel east for 1/2 mile; the cemetery is on the south side of the road on private land. The cemetery is on Ida Road, just east of Merriman Parkway. The cemetery was started by the Taylor family when the family owned the
surrounding
land. Land was also given for a schoolhouse and school. The school and community
were called "Cottonwood" and the cemetery was always called the "Cottonwood Cemetery" during that period.
Most death records and obituaries read "Cottonwood Cemetery".
Nowadays the cemetery is again often referred to as the "Taylor Cemetery". The cemetery was a fairly large community cemetery, that had a lot of wooden markers and fieldstone markers which are gone now. This list is largely annotation and research.  What tombstones remain have been plowed up & placed under a tree.
