Services for Joe Hobart Young, 81, a retired employee of Grayson County Precinct No. 3, of Collinsville, who died Friday, October 6, at Wilson N. Jones Hospital, were held Sunday, October 8, at 2 p.m. at Huff Funeral Chapel. Rev. Hugh Newsom, pastor of the Miller Memorial Baptist Church in Collinsville, and Rev. Harold Watson, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Whitesboro, officiated at the service. Interment was at Collinsville Cemetery, under the direction of Huff Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Weston Cox, Clifford Murray, Jerry Matlock, Charlie Tamplin, Hugh Hite, and Marvin Wolsey. Mr. Young was the son of George Young, born June 30, 1897, in Collinsville. He married Thelma Leverett on October 6, 1917. He was a member of the Miller Memorial Baptist Church in Collinsville. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Thelma Young, of Collinsville; two sons, Ralph Young of Whitesboro, and Ernest Young of Palestine; one daughter, Mrs. Morgan Faulkner of Marshall; two brothers, Jeff Young and C. J. Young, both of Collinsville; and one sister, Mrs. Albert Norton of Mangum, Oklahoma.Whitesboro News-Record November 8, 1990 Graveside services for Thelma Louise Young, 94, of Collinsville were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 4, at the Collinsville Cemetery under the direction of Huff Funeral Home. She died Friday, November 2, 1990, at the Whitesboro Nursing Home. Rev. A.W. Blaine conducted the services. Mrs. Young was born April 24, 1896, in Nevada, Texas, the daughter of the late Jerry Clayton Leverett and Mary Jane Petty Leverett. She married Joe H. Young on October 6, 1917, in Sherman, Texas. He preceded her in death October 6, 1978. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Collinsville. Survivors are a son, Ralph L. Young of Whitesboro; a daughter, Tommie Joe Faulkner of Marshall, Texas; four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ernest Eugene Young on September 29, 1981.
