COLLINSVILLE - Masonic Funeral services for Von Ray Evans, 87, were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2011 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Phil Coats officiating.  Interment followed at Collinsville Cemetery.  
Roy passed awway on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital - WNJ in Sherman.
He was born on March 11, 1924 in Leonard, Texas to Lawrence and Lela Mae (Sims) Evans.  He married Helen Young on February 12, 1949 in Rockwall, Texas.  He was a car salesman by profession and had also owned a wrecking yard.  He was a member of Collinsville Masonic Lodge #433 A.F. & A.M.
Survivors include his wife, Helen "June Bug" Evans of Collinsville; two sons, Don Evans and wife, Rikki, of Collinsville and Tommy Joe Evans of Bountiful, Utah; a grandson, Nicholas Evans of Collinsville; and a brother, Virgil D. Evans of Anna.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Ophelia Graves, Anna Margaret Wilder and Theta Marie Briggs.
Masons served as pallbearers.


Collinsville - Helen Onita Evans, 89, of Collinsville, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018, in Sherman.  Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Dan Eakin and George Wade officiating.  Interment followed in Collinsville Cemetery.  All services and arrangements were under the direction of Meador Funeral Home, Whitesboro.
Helen Onita "June Bug" Evabs was birb June 16, 1929 to William Lenton and Lois Ellen Reynolds Young in Dorchester, Texas.  She married Von Ray Evans on February 12, 1949 in Rockwall, Texas.  She was a bookkeeper for many years.
She is survived by her sons, Don Evans and wife, Rikki, of Collinsville; and Tom Evans of Collinsville; grandson, Nicholas Evans and wife, Emily, of Sherman; great-grandaughter,  Ava Evans of Sherman; sister, Barbara Kessler of Mansfield, Ohio; as well as several nieces and nephews.  Pallbearers were Tom Worsham, Billy Cook, Owen Wallace, Mike Tillett, Bruce Steven and D.J. Offers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Mary Raney, Bobby McKnight, and Melba Richardson. - - - Meador Funeral Home
