FRED CANNON, COLLINSVILLE RESIDENT

A long-time Collinsville resident, Fred Cannon, died Sunday morning in a Sherman hospital after an extended illness.  He was 73.
Funeral services for Mr. Cannon were conducted Monday afternoon at 2:30 in Miller Memorial Baptist church at Collinsville.  Rev. Hugh Newsom officiated.
Pallbearers were his grandsons and burial was in Collinsville Cemetery under the direction of Richards Funeral Home.
Born August 20, 1895, in Joplin, Mo., Mr. Cannon was the son of Mr. and Mrs. D. Cannon.
He was married to Ethel Swindle on November 13, 1915, at Collinsville.
A farmer and carpenter, the Collinsville resident was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include his widow; five sons, J.D. Cannon of Whitesboro, Harding Cannon of Collinsville, Billy Joe Cannon of Gainesville, Bob Cannon of Perrin and Carroll Cannon of Gretna, La.; five daughters, Mrs. A.L. Branch and Mrs. Leon Davis of Whitesboro, Mrs. Paul Underwood and Mrs. Billy B. Johnson of Collinsville and Mrs. Charles Jetzelsberger of Fort Worth.
Other survivors include three brother, Ben Cannon of Madill, Okla., Elbert Cannon of Collinsville and Raymond Cannon of South Gate, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Koehl of Amarillo and Mrs. Emma Hulsey of Hinton, Okla.; 35 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren
