Collinsville - Willard "Bill" Alexander, 82-year-old retired welder of Collinsville, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at the Collinsville Care Center.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4 in Huff Funeral Chapel in Whitesboro. Donny Weimer of the Collinsville Church of Christ officiated. Burial followed in Collinsville Cemetery.
Mr. Alexander was born Dec. 1, 1919, in McKinney, Texas, son of the late John Henry Alexander and Minnie Viers Alexander. He married Madgeline Alexander in Sept. 7, 1986, in Collinsville. She preceded him in death in 1993.

He was a member of the Collinsville Church of Christ. He was an Army veteran of World War II and received the Bronze Star; American Theater Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Ribbon, Service Stripe and Overseas Service Bar.
Mr. Alexander was a retired welder, having working for Hardwick Etter and Taylor Tank.
Surviving are his stepson and daughter-in-law, Gary L. and Yvonne Alexander of Haysville, N.C.; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Beverly and J.B. Scarbrough of Sadler, Texas; one sister-in-law, Irene Pilcher of Lafayette, La.; five step-grandchildren and 15 step- great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; six brothers; and one sister.
