COLLINSILLE, Texas, March 14. -- An event of unusual interest was the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the marriage of Mr. and Ms. J. Dawkins at their home two miles northeast of Collinsville, Sunday, March 9.
They had with them on this occasion all of their children except one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Drake of Groom, Texas. Those present were Decendants of Ashley, Ill; Drue L. of Groom, Texas; Seab of Collinsville; Olin E. of Ottawa, Kan., and Mrs. Walter Randlis of Lorena, Ok. Two nieces, who were reared in the home, were also present, Mrs. L. O. Ball of Denison and Mrs. Joe Hollingshead of Collinsville.

A dinner was served at the noon hour to about sixty guests. Mr. Dawkins was born at Arcadia, La., Jan 1, 1845. Mrs. Francis Byrd Dawkins, was born May 7, 1849 at Griffin, Ga. They were married at Arcadia, La., March 9, 1869 and moved to their present home in Grayson County, Texas, in 1871. Both enjoy good health and are active in home and business affairs.
