BY THE MORPHINE ROUTE
Sunday afternoon one of the frail sisters, Willie Burch, by name, living in the shanty on Crawford street near Austin avenue, in which Dona Hess suicided over a year ago, was found in a dying condition from the effects of an overdose of morphine.  Dr. Bailey was summoned and in accordance with his instructions the victim was taken out into the open air and spatted with wet towels, and otherwise wrought with for several hours, but the drug had too effectually taken possession of the life centers, and the unfortunate one solved the eternal mystery at 11 p.m.  Judge Cook was called to hold a Coroner's inquest Monday morning and examined a number of witnesses from whose evidence it was made plain that the deceased had taken the drug on account of having quarreled with her lover.  The verdict was therefore that the deceased came to her death from the effect of morphine taken with suicidal intent.  She was buried Monday afternoon.
