  The Sunday Gazetteer Sunday, September 18, 1898 pg. 3 LOCAL CONDENSATIONS Tuesday, September 13, 1898 Miss Elizabeth East, sister of Bud East, died Sunday of consumption at her home west of the city. The death of this lady is particularly sad. She was betrothed to the young soldier who died at the front and was buried at Pottsboro at the beginning of the war. Miss East was laid to rest at the old Layne burial ground. There was a large attendance of sympathizing friends at the funeral. Coffman~Layne Cemetery |
