L. C. Spaugh Sr., 65, Dies of Heart Attack

Denison - L. C. Spaugh Sr., 65, of 313 Chestnut, died at 8:15 a.m. Saturday at his home after a heart attack, Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson-Moore Funeral Chapel.  The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, Burial will be in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. 
Mr. Spaugh had been a Denison resident since about 1930, when he came here from Sherman. He was born in Collin County near Farmersville on July 3, 1899, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Harvey Spaugh.  He received his schooling
at Midway school near Farmersville and married Miss Alma Brinlee on Dec. 22, 1923 in McKinney.

He worked as an insurance salesman and a wholesale produce salesman. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors are his wife and five sons, L. C. Spaugh Jr. of Dallas, James H. Spaugh of Sherman Jerry W. Spaugh of Cartwright, Okla., Harold Wayne Spaugh of Michigan and Bobby Gene Spaugh of Sherman; five daughters, Mrs. Jodie Atkins and Miss Sharon E. Spaugh, both of Denison; Mrs. Billy Williams and Mrs. Gary T. Kohler, both of Michigan, and Mrs. Milton Torres of Florida; four brothers, T. J. Spaugh of Whitewright, B. N. Spaugh of Alba, B. U. Spaugh and R. M. Spaugh, both of McKinney; and 15 grandchildren.

Denison - Services for Alma Spaugh, 85-yar-old Denison homemaker who died Friday at Care Inn in Denison, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
The Rev. L. D. Lamb and the Rev. Ron Teel will officiate, and burial will be in Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Spaugh was born in Collin County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Lafeyette Brinlee. She married Leonard Cleo Spaugh on Dec. 22, 1923 in McKinney.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Surviving are her sons, James Spaugh of Sherman, L. C. Spaugh of Tawokoni, Jerry Spaugh of West Columbia, Harold Spaugh of Fort Worth and Bobby Spaugh of McKinney; daughters, Dorothy Torres of Sherman, Joyce Atkins of Alba, Edith Kohler of Magnolia, Wanda Williams of Denison and Sharon McEntire of Richardson; brothers, Woodrow Brinlee of Tulsa, Okla. and Robert Brinlee of Odessa; sisters, Opal Seal and Iva Brinlee both of Sherman and Avis Queen of Midland; 26 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. 
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. They are: Michael Spaugh, B.J. Spaugh, Kenny Spaugh, Dwayne Williams, Carroll Allen Spaugh and Todd Williams.
The family will be at the funeral home from 4 to 5 p.m. today.
