SHERMAN - Funeral services for Dorothy Fay Cole, 87, of Sherman will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Cedarlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Sherman.

Fay passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at the Homestead of Sherman.

Fay was born on March 13, 1922 the daughter of Robert S. and Sheila Gertrude Foster Sampson. She married Virgil Oral "Pete" Cole on Jan. 28, 1939.

Fay loved gardening, fishing and spending time with her family. She especially loved Easter Egg hunts with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Sherman.

Fay is survived by her sons Ronald Cole and wife Mary of Sherman, Donald Cole and wife Linda Sue of Stamps, Ark., Larry Ray Cole and wife Janice of Sherman, Raymond Cole and wife Belinda of Denison, Johnny Cole of Sherman and daughter Hallie Ryno of Sherman; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Thelma Kinnamon and Wanda Lee Kilgus of Denison and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Fay was preceded in death by her parents; sister Berta Lou Lee; and brothers Frank, Vernon, Roy, Ray and David Sampson.

Family night will be held from 6 -8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at the Waldo Funeral Home.

SHERMAN - Funeral services for Pete Cole, 93, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012 at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kenneth Dacus officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 -8 p.m. on Wednesday at Waldo Funeral Home.

Pete was born June 28, 1919 in Ida, Texas to Robert William Cole and Flora Belle (Frazier) Cole and passed from this life on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 in Sherman, Texas. Pete grew up in the Sherman area and worked as a farmer and at Kimbell for seven years. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Fay Sampson, on Jan. 28, 1939 in Denison, Texas. She precedes him in death. Pete worked for the City of Sherman water department from 1957-1982 retiring after 25 years of dedicated service to the city. Pete enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching westerns on the television. He always had large gardens and would give away vegetables to his family and friends. Pete was a member of Victory Baptist Church and the Oddfellows.

Pete was also preceded in death by his parents, sons Donald Cole and Raymond Cole, brothers Walter Melvin "Jack" Cole, Wilson Harold "Pooky" Cole, and Robert Calhoun "Bubba" Cole, and sister Mary Miller.

He is survived by son Ronald Cole and wife, Mary of Sherman, son Larry Cole and wife, Janice of Sherman, daughter Hallie Ryno of Sherman, son Johnny Mac Cole of Sherman, daughter-in-law Linda Cole of Stamps, Ark., 12 grandchildren Tina Freeman, Naomi Walker, Donas Cole, Jason Cole, Shannon Cain, Laura Chancellor, Laramie Cole, Angelique Morneau, Joey Morneau, Steven Cole, Tara Cole and Tori Cole, 24 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Services are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
