Denison - Graveside services for John Allen Warden, 66, who died Wednesday in a Bonham hospital, were held Saturday morning in Cedarlawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.  Rev. Keith Taylor officiated.
Warden was born December 29, 1922 in Bells, son of Mr. and Mrs. Shelah Lesley Warden.  He attended Denison schools and married Esta Sprouse on September 23, 1946 in Sherman, Texas.
A retired machine operator, Warden worked for the J-M Manufacturing for 21 years.  He was a Baptist and a World War II veteran of the Marines, having fought at Iwo Jima.  Warden received a Purple Heart for his service.
Warden was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife; son, Boyd R. Warden of Denison; daughter, Glenda Barker of Grapevine, Texas; brother, Bill J. Warden of Pottsboro; and 4 grandchildren.


Esta Lavern Warden, 92, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus Thursday, January 17, 2019 at her home in Denison.
Mrs. Warden was born March 13, 1926 in Blue Ridge, Texas, daughter of Callie and Lottie Beatrice Riley Sprouse.  She married the love of her life, John A. Warden, September 23, 1946 in Sherman, Texas.  Esta was a homemaker who was devoted to her family.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  For many years she worked at the Snap Center, where she made many friends.
Mrs. Warden leaves behind her beloved family, son, Boyd Warden of Denison, Texas; daughter, Glenda Barker of Euless, Texas; 4 grandchldren ad 3 great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service was held at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas.  Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home in Denison.
