Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Bratcher-Moore chapel for Charles Ray Warren, 19, Denison man who died in a Dallas hospital Monday several hours after he had accidentally shot himself in the head, at his home, 3201 W. Morton.  Rev. O.D. Reed, rector of St. Luke's Episcopal church, conducted the services.  He was assisted by Rev. Ronald Prince, pastor of  Parkside Baptist church and Rev. Hollis Epton, Gainesville.  Interment was in Cedarlawn Cemetery.
The accident occurred when Mr. Warren was handling a .22 calibre rifle in the kitchen of his home, and it was accidentally discharged, striking him in the forehead.  According to information from Mrs. Dusenberry, the rifle was thought to be unloaded. Taken first to Madonna hospital, Mr. Warren was moved later to the hospital in Dallas and the care of a brain specialist.  He died at 3:50 Monday afternoon without having regained consciousness.
Mr. Warren was born in Louisville, Mississippi, March 3, 1930, and son of Mr. and Mrs. John Warren.   He had lived in Denison 8 years, and received his schooling in the Denison public schools.  He was married on February 14, 1946 to Miss Sue Dusenberry.  He was a member of the Baptist church in Gainesville, Texas, and was employed by his brother, T.L. Warren, owner of Master Cleaners.
He is survived by his widow and 9 months old son, Charles Edward; his parents of Denison; 2 brothers, Johnny and T.L. of Denison; and one sister, Mrs. Coy Pace of Baldwin, Mississippi.
