Sherman - Funeral services for Wanda Joyce Vick were held at 10:00 AM Friday, March 25 in the Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Vicks's nephew, Rev. Weldon Hutson of the Bethel Baptist Church officiated with services under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Mrs. Vick, 77, passed away Monday, March 21 at Texoma Medical Center.
Joyce was born February 15, 1934 in Gainesville, Texas to the late Albert and Ruby (Roberts) Hames. She married John Vick on June 16, 1955 in Southmayd. Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked primarily at home but also helped her husband in his trucking business, and later cared for John during his extended illness. Mr. Vick passed away on March 26, 2008. In her free time, Joyce enjoyed interior decorating and gardening. Joyce was a talented lady with a knack for taking a simple item and making it unique. She was a lifetime member of the Faith Church of Sherman.
Mrs. Vick is survived by two daughters, Caroline Bond and her husband Steve of Dorcheste;r and Yolonda Franks and her husband Roy of Sherman; one son, Johnny Vick and wife Tonya of Sherman; nine grandchildren, Shantell Coco, Jack Bond, Nick Bond, Tyler Vick, Travis Vick, Harris Vick, Calley Vick, Winston Franks, and Molly Franks; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and four brothers.

Honorary pallbearers were Jack Bond, Nick Bond, Tyler Vick, Travis Vick, Harris Vick, Winston Franks, David Hames, and Dale Bonner.
