Sherman - Lela Merle Ulrich, 82-year-old Sherman resident, died Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at IHS of Texoma.
Services were held Saturday afternoon, March 10 at Key Memorial United Methodist Church.  Rev. Allen W. Snider of Key Memorial United Methodist Church officiated assisted by Rev. Mary Lois O'Neal.  Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Ulrich was born on January 23 1919, the daughter of Ernest and Cordelia Chesshire Craven.  She married Joe Pitman on October 25, 1941.  He passed away in November of 1968.  She married Joe V. Ulrich on November 13, 1973 at Key Memorial United Methodist Church in Sherman.
She worked in bookkeeping and patient registration at Wilson N. Jones Hospital before retiring in 1974.  She was a longtime member of Key Memorial United Methodist Church in Sherman and was a member of the Builder Uppers Sunday School Class.
Pallbearers were members of the Builder Uppers Sunday School Class.
Surviving are her husband, Joe V. Ulrich, of Sherman; children, Sandra Atkins and husband, Ron, of Plano; and Brent Pitman and wife, Karen, of Tyler; step-children, Joe Ulrich III and wife, Janell; and Scott Ulrich and wife, Melody, all of Plano; grandchildren, Amalia Goodwin of Dallas; Kyle Goodwin of Austin; Shay Stokes of Great Lakes, Illinois; Joseph Van Ulrich, Iv and Leigh Anne Adcock, both of Plano; sisters, Margaret Taylor of Sherman; Lois Craven of Abilene; and Jennie Ann Little of Seguin; and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Horace Craven; and her first husband, Joe Pitman.
