David E. Tingle was born on April 1, 1945 in Arapahoe, North Carolina, son of Herman Tingle and Mildred Scott Tingle. He passed away at his home in Sherman, Texas on July 2 , 2022.
David was in the US Air Force for 20 years in air rescue and recovery, which allowed him to see much of the world while serving, as he was a Vietnam veteran. After retiring from the service, he went to work for Super Sack in Savoy, Texas, where he worked 20 years before retiring from his second career.  Of all his hobbies he loved woodcarving and being out in nature the most; he also enjoyed hunting.  Helicopters were a huge interest to David as he spoke about helicopters and his time on them with his grandsons and friends whenever he got the chance.  David loved his family and all the time he got to spend with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bruce and Kelley; and his daughter, Deanna M. Tingle.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter and son-in-law, Tamara and Kenneth Reid; grandchildren: Frisco Reid, Brianna Reid, Benjamin Reid, and Erin Plemmons.  Also great-granddaughter, Sophia Marie Reid; sister, Freeda and husband, John Caccioppoli; and half-brother, Alan Tingle.
