Mass of the Christian Burial for Flossie Dolezalek Tesar, 91, long time Southmayd resident, was celebrated Wednesday afternoon, March 2, 2005 in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sherman, Texas.  She died Saturday, February 26, 2005 in Richardson, Texas where she had resided since July 2001.
Rev. Antonio Aureus of the church officiated with burial in Cedarlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
The daughter of Louis and Emma Jaresh Dolezalek, she was born May 24, 1913 in Ennis, Texas.  The family moved to Dorchester in 1916 where she attended Sperry School.  On December 21, 1942 she married Army Private Fred Tesar shortly before he was shipped out to Africa and Europe.  After the war, the couple bought a farm near Southmayd where they raised theri family.
As a young woman, she was a cook and housekeeper in Dallas.  During the war, she worked at the North American Airplane Plant in Grand Prairie.  For several years after she was a housewife, but went to work as a painter for Whopper Stopper in the 1950s.  She was employed there until 1963.
When she retired at the age of 70, she joined the Sherman Joy Club to quilt and travel with long-time friends.  She also enjoyed the companionship of friends and family at the Collinsville Community Center where she quilted and participated in other fund-raising activities.
Surviving are daughters, Joyce Moore of Garland and Karen Swift of Allen; son-in-law, Grover Moore of Garland; 3 grandchildren, Dwayne Moore of Allen, Greg Moore of Dallas, and Amy Swift Thompson of Lawrence, Kansas; grandson-in-law, Mike Thompson; and 3 great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Matthew and Daniel Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Bill Dolezalek, Emma Ruzicka, Edward Dolezalek.and Mildred Dolezalek.
Pallbearers were Donald Dolezalek, Kenneth Dolezalek, Jimmy Dolezalek, Sammy Dolezalek, Philip Ruzicka, and Don Graham. Honorary pallbearer was Jack Hall.  All are nephews or nephews-in-law of the deceased.
Rosary was receited by Deacon John LeBland Tuesday evening in the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn St., Dallas, Texas 76219 or to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 727 S. Travis, Sherman, Texas 75090.
