Services for Bernice Ballou Thames of Sherman, 83-year-old housewife who died Friday in Gordonville, were held Saturday in Waldo Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. Rocky Pope of Mimosa Lane Baptist Church in Mesquite officiated. Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Thames was born in Russell, Okla., the daughter of James Robert Ballou and Lucy Baker Ballou, and married William B. Thames on July 8, 1948. Before moving to Sherman, she lived in Dallas.
Mrs. Thames was a member of North Park Baptist Church and former member of Vickery Baptist Church in Dallas.
Surviving are her brothers, J. R. Ballou of Dorchester and Ellery Ballou of Pottsboro; sister, Vivian Jackson of Pottsboro; and niece, Betty Ann Burris of Gordonville, who cared for her.
They will be at the residence of Betty Ann Burris in Gordonville.
