George Tribble, Retired Farmer, Dies at age 78
George P. Tribble, a retired farmer, died Tuesday morning in a Sherman hospital following an illness of one month. He was 78.
Services were held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Central Baptist Church with Rev. George L. Sullivan, pastor, and Rev. R.L. William of the East Sherman Baptist Church conducting. Interment was at Cedarlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Tribble was born February 8, 1873 in Murphreesboro, Tennessee and came to Grayson County at the age of seven. He married Miss Lula Kay in Sherman. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lula Tribble; four sons, Claude Tribble, L. G. Tribble, Less Tribble of Sherman and A. C. Tribble of Ft. Worth; five daughters, Mrs. H. L. Lupher, Mrs. Paul Reneau, Mrs. T. C.Halcomb of Sherman, Mrs. Jimmie Gray of San Diego, California, and Mrs. James Jolley of Bryan; one sister, Mrs. Tom Lawrence of Ft. Worth; 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Rex Uphouse, Rush Waldrop, Bill Barry, Howard Hestand, B.V. Atnip and Webster Smith, George DeSpain and R. L. Brooks.
Barrett Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
