Sherman - Funeral services for Sylvia Ann Thomas were held Thursday afternoon, February 16, 2012 at Harvest Time Assembly of God.  Rev. Rusty Waller of the Gordonville Baptist Church officiated.  Burial followed in Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Shay Eddleman, Randal Mithlo, Buck Bennett, James Edmonson, Don Burrough, Paul Jacobs, Dave Eldredge, and Steve Miles serving as pallbearers.  Justin Turner, Tristan Barber, and Jonathan Wright were honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Thomas, 42, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Baylor Hospital.
Sylvia was born February 7, 1970 in McKinney, Texas, daughter of John and Shirley Mitchell Taylor.  She graduated from Trenton High School and worked as an office manager of Southwest International Trucks.  On February 12, 1994 Sylvia married Terry Wayne Thomas in Sherman, Texas.
Sylvia was a very loving wife and mother.  She was a kind and giving woman with a heart of gold, always thinking of others before herself. Sylvia loved to help those in need.  Even in death she continued to give as an organ donor, saving 2 lives and contributing to countless others with her donation.  Her smile was more beautiful than could be possibly imagined.
Sylvia is survived by her husband; 5 children, Shelby Thomas and Trinity Thomas, both of Sherman; Terry and Seth Thomas, both of Sherman; and Brittany Ahern and husband, Sean, of Denison; mother, Shirley Bacon and husband, Jerry, of Sadler; sister, Carla Buckloo and husband, Billy, of Gordonville; brother, John Taylor and wife, Kristy, of Crandell; mother-in-law, who she called "Mom", Patricia Thomas, of Sherman; sister-in-law, Vicki Thomas Wright of Pottsboro; brother-in-law, Jerry Thomas of Pottsboro; 2 grandchildren, Bailey and Liv Thomas, both of Sherman; and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Emily Thomas; father, John Taylor; grandmother, Ruth "Granny" Breece; and father-in-law, John P. Thomas.
