Leta Thomas was born June 27, 1924 at her grandparents' home near Centrahome, Oklahoma and welcomed into the arms of her Lord March 18, 2009.  Her parents were John "Jack" Matthew Hoover and Bessie Lee Waller Hoover.  On October 6, 1941 she married Howard Elmer Thomas in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Over the years Leta worked for the Levi Strauss Co., Lilley's Department Store, and Pants West Department Store.  She also taught Bible classes and Thursday School as a member of the Park Avenue Church of Christ.  She loved her family and church family.  She was also passionate about her Boston Terriers and travel, especially to the beautiful state of Colorado.
Leta was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 brothers, Anderson Franklin Hoover and Jackye Leroy Hoover; and sister, Edith Ineva Hoover Adams.
She is survived by her sons, Howard Matthew Thomas and wife, Sandra Daniel Thomas; and Ronald Franklin Thomas and wife, Tammy Mott Thomas; grandchildren, Sandra Thomas Graham; Howard Davis Thomas; Amy Thomas Baugh and husband, Terry; Thomas and wife, Leslie; Ashley Heatherly and Sarah Heatherly; great-grandchildren, Carolyn and Kaylee Graham; Justin, Tommy and Nathan Thomas; Carson Baugh; and Haven Thomas.
