Freida Ownby Turner, daughter of Homer Lee and Alice Marie Moore Ownby was born March 21, 1938 in Denison, Texas.  She attended the public schools of Denison and graduated from Denison High School with the class of 1956.  She obtained her cosmetology license from the State of Texas, working as a beautician in Denison for several years during and after high school.  At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized in the Denison Church of the Nazarene.
She was united in holy matrimony to Albert Ray Turner on April 4, 1959 in Durant, Oklahoma.  This union was blessed with two children, Mark in 1960 and Steven in 1971.  Freida and Ray were married 59 years and their enduring love has been an inspiration to family and friends alike.
Freida was an active member of Trinity Lighthouse Church in Denison.  She was a people person who had many close friends and loved to laugh.  Throughout her life she was an important caregiver to many, including her younger siblings, children, grandchildren, and numerous elderly family members.  Freida was there for people her entire life.  She quietly departed from this life Saturday, October 27, 2018 in Norman, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Bob, A.C. and Harry.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her husband, Ray Turner, of Denison; her children and their spouses, Mark and Cindy Turner of Norman, Oklahoma; Steve and Danna Turner of Carrollton, Texas; grandchildren, Brandon Jones, Lauren Turner, Russell Turner, Elizabeth Turner, Graham Turner; great-grandchildren, Taylor Jones, Teagan Jones; siblings, Paula Ownby, Clearfield  and husband, Richard, of Sachse, Texas; and Mike Ownby and wife, Tommie, of Rowlett, Texas; brother-in-law, Roy Turner and wife, Harriett, of Little Rock, Arkansas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
