Graveside funeral were held afternoon at Cedarlawn Memorial Park for George C. Tallant, Sr., 89, who died Friday, July 31, 1992, at Denison Manor.  Rev. Bill Brown officiated and Bratcher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.  Pallbearers were Masons.
He was born April 14, 1903, in Commerce, son of Thomas and Virginia Tallant.  He married Mary Taul on August 19, 1922 in Denison; she died in 1965.  He married Flossie Winkles in Denison on December 14, 1966.
Tallant was a retired engine mechanic at Perrin Field, a member of Harless United Methodist Church, and the Lone Star Masonic Lodge No. 403 Chapter and Council Commandery.
Survivors include his wife; 3 sons, Graham, Jr. of Denison; Clarence of Dayton; and Thomas L. of Wichita Falls; 3 step-sons, John Robert Park of Paris; Alfred Park of Denison; and Teddy Park of Lake Charles, Louisiana; a daughter, Mary Catherine Calhoun of Wichita Falls; 3 step-daughters, Lorene Blanchette of Orange, Texas; Florene Means of Denison; and Wandell Pelkonen of San Antonio; 3 sisters, Alma McClure, Lorene Gilliam, and Leona Couch, all of Denison; 9 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; 32 step-great-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild and 3 step-great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Harless United Methodist Church.
