Services for Miriam Elizabeth Trout, 67-year-old retired registered nurse of Sherman, were held Friday afternoon in Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. She died Tuesday at the Chapel of Care Nursing Home.  Rev. Eddie Frazier of Bailey First Baptist Church and Hulen Chandler of Sherman officiated. Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Trout was born in Petty, daughter of A.V. and Lucy Martin Roden. She was a 1944 graduate of Honey Grove High School. She also graduated from Paris Sanitarium School of Nursing, Paris Junior College and Baylor University with a degree in nursing. On January 7, 1980, she married Carl Trout in Ravenna.
She had formerly been employed by Baylor Hospital in Dallas for 5 years. She moved to Sherman and was employed in the surgery unit at Wilson N. Jones Hospital for 5 years. She was a longtime employee of St. Vincent's Hospital and later worked for the health department, retiring after 12 years of service. She was a member of the Ravenna Baptist Church.
Surviving are her stepdaughter, Linda Carter of Oklahoma City; sister, Geneva Taylor of Sherman; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were John Dennis, Harold Walker, Andy Walker, Keith Carter, David Sullivan and Jim Hair.
