Willie Tyree, 62, of Newport Richie, Florid., formerly of Denison, died Thursday in Tampa, Florida.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday in Johnson-Moore Funeral Chapel in Denison. The Rev Raymond England, pastor of Trinity Lighthouse Assembly of God Church, officiated. Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Tyree was born in Whitesburg, Kentucky, the son of Andrew and Oma Lucas Tyree. He married Gwen Wilson June 18, 1955 in Monroe, Michigan.
An Army veteran, he retired from Allied Energy in 1992 as a maintenance employee. He was a member of Trinity Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Denison and was a disabled American Veteran.
Surviving are his wife; sons, Tim Tyree, Kevin Tyree and David Tyree, all of Denison; daughters, Jessica Tillery, Paula Mendoza and Karla Brown, all of Denison; brothers, Ercel Tyree of Clyde, Ohio; Clyde Tyree of Burnside, Kentucky, Ralph Tyree and Kirby Tyree, both of Tiffin, Ohio, Bennett Tyree of McCutchenville, Ohio, Ray Tyree of Newton, North Carolina, Glenn Tyree of Hiddenite, North arolina and Edward Tyree of New Castle, Indiana; sisters, Gladys Dudley and Ruth Gruhn, both of Denison, Norma Rose Biller of Findley, Ohio, and Nora Lee Gannon of Bryan, Ohio; and 12 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Robert Backest, Pete Wornhor, Jeff Cottingame, Jimmy Lynn Cottingame, Tom Gruhn & Timmy Tyree Jr.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lighthouse Assembly of God, 2810 S. Myrick Avenue, Denison, 75020.
