 The Herald Democrat August 19, 2013 Denison - Mable "Nanny" Pauline Steele, 88, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Texoma Medical Center. Funeral service was held Tuesday morning, August 20, 2013 at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Bobby Clay officiating. Mable was born Thursday, August 6, 1925 in Lamar County, daughter of Odell Clay and Etalker Miller Clay. She worked for Kress for 27 years and Wackers for several years. She loved to bowl, quilt, travel and work jigsaw puzzles. She is survived by son, James Steele and wife, Vicki, of Forney; brother, James "Bubby" Clay of Denison; sisters, Elsie Parks of Paris and Judy Hargrove of Denison; 4 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband; sister, Yvonne Clay; and brother, Woody Clay. Pallbearers were Robert Petty, Fred Gerwick, Mark Lance, Gary Clay, Brian Clay, and Kenny Wilkins.
