Sammie Marion Selby, 90, passed away Wednesday January 20, 2010, at Brentwood Place in Denison. 
Services were conducted Saturday morning, January 23, 2010 in the Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Officiating was her loving son-in-law, Denis Gray. 
Sammie was born in Sherman on January 6, 1920, to Richard and Lula Dodsen Stone. She was raised in the Ida community and attended the public schools there. She later attended the Austin State School for the Deaf. She then returned to Sherman, where she met and married Eugene Selby on October 4, 1942. They had one daughter, Nancy Helen Selby Gray.
Sammie and Eugene were members for many years at North Park Baptist Deaf Congregation. They later became members of the Deaf Chapel Church at First Baptist Church of Sherman. Sammie was a very loving mother and grandmother. Her family was very important to her, and she loved the Lord.
Sammie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 brothers, and one sister.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Gray and husband, Denis, of Sherman; grandchildren, Ashley Pribble and husband, Kris, of Denison; and Emily Ridgway and husband, Cody, of Thornton, Colorado; and 2 great grandchildren.
