Gladys Flemmings Smith, 66, passed away on January 10, 2017.  Gladys was born in Clarksville, Texas on April 16, 1950, daughter of Jimmie and Clara Flemmings.
She was a graduate of Denison High School, class of 1968.  Because she was short, she couldn't be a flight attendant; therefore, she went to work at Texas Instruments in Sherman, where she retired after 40 plus years of service. She was an active member of Mt. Zion in Denison, where she served as an usher and supported the choir.
She is survived by 2 sons, Marvin Flemmings and Garrick Smith; mother, Clara Mae Flemmings; her loving ex-husband, Marvin L. Smith; 2 sisters, Wanda McDaniel and Darlene Hewitt; 6 brothers, Ed Flemmings; Archie Flemmings; Joe Flemmings; Billy Flemmings; Kelvin Flemmings; and Marcus Flemmings; 8 grandchildren, Jackson McBride; Hailey Flemmings; Katlin McBride; Yazmin Smith; Jaden Flemmings; Kyla McBride; Lisa Bruno; Elijah Flemmings.
Gladys is preceded in death by her grandparents; father, Jimmie L. Flemmings; brother, James A. Flemmings; and sister, Delphine Flemmings-Patterson.
The Home Going Celebration was Saturday morning, January 21, 2017 in the Trinity Lighthouse Church in Denison. Rev. Raymond England was the Host Pastor; Rev. Michael Braxton  officiated the services; and her pastor, Rev. Alonzo McLean, delivered the eulogy.
The funeral cortege then proceeded to the Garden of Love on the grounds of Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman where Gladys was placed in her earthly bed.
Arrangements were entrusted to James E. Smith and the professionals at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, Texas.
