Iris Claire Sneed was born October 18, 1924, daughter of Versie Thomas and Queen Madden.  She moved to Denison at am ear;u age and was a graduate of Terrell High School.  Upon finishing she moved to Austin, Texas where she attended Madam C.J. Walker Beauty College.  Her passion for beauty kept her busy for many years.
She met and married the love of her life, Oquine Sneed November 9, 1946.  He preceded her in death as well as her parents; sister; brother; daughter and grandson.
She was a member of St. John CME Church where she served as a life time missionary.
Momma Iris answered the call from her Saviour and entered into eternal life September 30, 2018 at the blessed age of 93.
Left with precious memories are sons, Billy Don Sneed, Oquine Sneed, Jr., Ricky Sneed (Vicky), all of Sherman; and Prince Edward Sneed of Beaumont, Texas; daughters, Sandy West (Ted) of Crestview, Florida; Gwen Boyd and Karen Wilson (Eric) of Sherman; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.
The funeral service was held Friday afternoon , October 4, 2018 in the St. John CME Church, Sherman with Rev. Rodney Patten, pastor, officiating; and her son-in-law, Rev. Marshall Walker, delivered the eulogy.  Burial followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.  Arrangements were entrusted to the professionals at Waldo Funeral Home.

Sherman - A Life Celebration service for Mrs. Linda Kay Walker, 65, of Sherman, was held Wednesday morning, August 22, 2012 at Greater Hope Bpatist Church in Sherman.  Dr. Rayford E. Malone, pastor, officiated.  Commital service followed at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
Linda Kay was born June 29, 1947 in Denison, daughter of Oquine Sneed and Iris Thomas Sneed.  She graduated from Fred Douglass High School in Sherman.  She was employed as a manager for the Sherman K-Wolens store until its closure, and then at Mervyn's Department Store until her decline in health in 1997.  Linda had a fond love of children and watching westerns, but nothing surpassed her love for the Lord God.  Mrs. Walker entered eternal life Thursday, August 15, 2012 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Rev. Marshall L. Walker of Sherman; daughters, Trenna Neal (Dow) of Sherman and Valerie Johnson (Marcus) of San Antonio; mother, Iris Sneed of Sherman; grandchildren, Kendra Walker of Dallas; Jerrel Guess (Tiernee) of Sherman; Diondra Johnson, Marcus Johnson, Jr. and Jordan Johnson, all of San Antonio; great-grandchildren, Jamien, Jada and Jaedyn; brothers, Bill Sneed of Downey, California; Oquine Sneed, Jr. and Ricky Sneed (Vicky) of Sherman; Prince E. Sneed of Beaumont, Texas; sisters, Sandy West of Valparasio, Florida; Gwen Boyd and Karen Sneed (Eric) of Sherman; aunt, Mary Cottonham of Englewood, California; along with many other relatives and friends.
