Betty Jean Raley, 93, passed away Monday, October 28, 2019 at Grayson Place in Denison.
She was born April 15, 1926 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, daughter of Ted Wallen and Iva Baker Wallen.
Betty was feisty and a lot of fun.  She loved being with her family and having picnics and going fishing, working puzzles, and breakfasts with her grandkids - making biscuits and them eating the dough before they were baked.
Betty worked as an LVN at Wilson Jones Hosptial and loved her job.  She was a lifelong member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the Rock Hounds.  She was married to Robert Raley, who was in the United States Air Force, and she traveled the world with him, until he retired at Perrin AFB and they stayed in Sherman.
She is survived by daughters, Beverly Fleming of Pottsboro, Texas; and Susan Taylor of Coleman, Oklahoma; brothers, Richard Wallen and Darrel Wallen; grandchildren, Randy Ackin and wife, Kirsten and children, Raley and Alex; Crystal White and husband, Phillip; Jonathan Fleming and wife, Amber and son, Dylan; sons-in-law, Jerry Calhoun and Jerry Taylor; step-grandchildren, Robert Fleming and Lisa Fleming-Edgmon; step-great-grandchildren, Dakota Fleming; Augustus Fleming; and William Edgmon; dear friend of many years, James Cooper; and caregiver, Francis Easley.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Deborah Calhoun; sister, Peggy Turnelli; son-in-law, Michael Fleming; and grandchild, Jared Taylor.
Graveside services were held Monday, November 4, 2019 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.  Arrangements were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
